Getting Upload URL and QR Code
Enabling guests to upload photos is a key part of the Fotify experience. This guide covers how to generate, share, and manage upload links and QR codes.
Accessing the Upload Options
You can get the upload URL and QR code in several ways:
From the Event Card:
Locate your event on the Events page
Look for the QR code icon in the action buttons
Click the icon to open the sharing modal
From the Event Dropdown:
Click the "More" or three-dot menu on an event
Select "QR Code" from the dropdown options
From the Photos Page:
Navigate to the Photos section
Find your event
Click the QR code icon
The QR Code Modal
When you open the QR code sharing modal, you'll see:
QR Code Display: A large, clear QR code optimized for scanning
Upload URL: The direct link that guests can use
Sharing Options:
Copy Link: Copies the URL to your clipboard
Print QR Code: Opens a printer-friendly page
Download QR Code: Saves the QR image for digital sharing
Sharing the QR Code
At Physical Events
Print and Display:
Use the print option to create high-quality printouts
Place QR codes at:
Entry points
Table centerpieces
Near photo booths
On event programs
Include brief instructions: "Scan to upload your photos!"
Digital Displays:
Show the QR code on screens throughout the venue
Include it in slideshow presentations
Display periodically on the live carousel (happens automatically)
For Virtual/Hybrid Events
Digital Sharing:
Download the QR code image
Share in digital invitations
Include in email communications
Post on event websites or social media
Share in messaging apps
Direct Link Sharing:
Copy the upload URL
Share via email, text, or messaging apps
Include in digital event materials
Guest Experience
When guests access the upload URL or scan the QR code:
They'll see a mobile-friendly upload page
They can select photos from their device
Add an optional name (author)
Include an optional message
Submit the photo
Receive confirmation of successful upload
QR Code Features
Fotify's QR codes include:
High Contrast: Easy to scan in various lighting conditions
Error Correction: Works even if partially obscured or damaged
Embedded Event Info: Opens directly to the correct event
Language Detection: Attempts to match guest language preferences
Automatic Display: Periodically shows on the live carousel
Managing Upload Access
Upload access is controlled by your event status:
Upcoming: Upload URL is not active
Live: Full upload access enabled
Paused: Uploads temporarily disabled
Finished: Uploads permanently disabled
The QR code and URL remain the same throughout the event's lifecycle, but their functionality changes based on status.

The upload URL includes:
A unique identifier for your event
Security validations to prevent unauthorized use
Status checking to enforce event rules
Secure transmission of photos
Testing Before Your Event
Always test your QR code before the event:
Scan with different devices
Try different lighting conditions
Verify the upload process works
Check that photos appear in your moderation queue or live carousel
Monitoring Usage
During your event, you can monitor upload activity:
Check the photo count in your event dashboard
Review the moderation queue (if enabled)
Watch the live carousel for new content
